About Us

The Historic Island Dairy is owned by Scott Sonoc and Marsha Williams who have been seasonal Washington Island residents for 18 years. They fell in love with the island the moment they drove off the ferry on their first visit on Memorial Day 1996. Before they left the island that weekend, they had a contract to buy their first home there!

Scott Sonoc established his own architecture firm, Sonoc Architects & Associates Inc., in Chicago. He has designed a variety of projects nationwide, including industrial campuses, mixed income residential communities, and commercial centers. His work also includes historic building renovations as well urban planning and economic development initiatives for cities and towns. He holds a Master’s degree in Architecture from the University of Illinois and a Bachelor’s of Science degree from the Institute of Design at Illinois Institute of Technology. Scott is a registered architect licensed to practice throughout the United States.

Marsha Williams’ career includes leadership positions in finance at First Chicago, Amoco Corporation (VP and Treasurer), Crate and Barrel (Chief Administrative Officer), Equity Office Properties (Chief Financial Officer) and Orbitz Worldwide (Chief Financial Officer). Marsha holds an undergraduate degree in Economics from Wellesley College and a Master’s of Business Administration in Finance and Accounting from the University of Chicago.
